Description:
The Inpatient Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) RN will work a day shift schedule.
This position requires rounding on multiple units daily to assess and manage a variety of patient wounds and ostomies.
The average patient census is approximately 15 patients per day.
Primary diagnoses include pressure injuries, chronic and acute wounds, and ostomies.
The nurse should be familiar with various wound care techniques and products, including alginates, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, and vacuum-assisted closure therapy.
Patient education and family teaching are critical components of this role.
Travelers may be required to float within the specialty as needed.
Weekends are not required, but holidays may be scheduled as needed.
The role necessitates excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
Candidates should be comfortable with patient-centered care and possess strong problem-solving abilities.
Overall, the position focuses on delivering high-quality wound care to patients across all age groups.
