Job Title: Wound Care RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Wound Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:30 - 16:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current RN License in South Carolina Certifications: BLS, WOCN Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years of Wound Care experience - Experience in pediatrics is highly preferred Description: This position is for a Wound Care RN with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The shift schedule is 5 days a week from 07:30 to 16:00. No weekend requirements are necessary. The clinician will not be required to be on-call. The RN will be required to float within scope to meet facility needs. The facility supports the floating of clinicians to similar units. The hospital is a teaching facility with a Magnet designation and is a Level 1 trauma center. Total staffed beds are 865. The facility will provide scrubs for the staff. Charting will be done using the Epic system. This position involves caring for patients with a variety of wound types, including traumatic wounds, ostomy care, and advanced wound care. Interdisciplinary support is available in the unit. The unit serves patient age groups ranging from neonates to geriatrics. Clinical skills required include wound assessment, pressure ulcer management, and infection control. The candidate must possess strong patient and family teaching abilities. Travelers should be prepared for possible assignments during hurricane season from June to November. This role does not require certification in continence management. The facility will prioritize candidates who have a South Carolina RN license in hand. Candidates with pending licenses are also considered if evidence of application is provided.
