Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Telemetry, Float Pool – Days
LocationTucson, Arizona
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Three 12-hour shifts per week | 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
- Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe, high-quality patient care
- Float across Medical/Surgical units (including Orthopedics and Neurology), Telemetry, and potentially PCU or ED holding areas as census and staffing needs require
- Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff; provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel
- Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and adherence to unit-specific protocols
- Manage patient ratios of approximately 1:6 on MS/Telemetry units and 1:4–5 in ED holding areas
Required Qualifications- Active Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience (required to apply)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Willingness and ability to float across multiple departments and facilities within the network
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Emergency Department holding area settings
- Prior travel nursing experience with demonstrated adaptability across varied clinical environments
- Familiarity with Orthopedic or Neurology Medical/Surgical patient populations
