Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Martinsburg, WV

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed telemetry unit with all private rooms, maintaining a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips, including basic dysrhythmia recognition, and coordinate with remote monitor technicians regarding any identified concerns
• Manage telemetry patients with diagnoses including post-catheterization care, respiratory difficulty, and medical/surgical conditions requiring telemetry monitoring
• Administer and reconstitute medications including titrating heparin; utilize Omnicell medication dispensing system
• Place peripheral IVs and draw labs from central lines when ordered; collaborate with respiratory therapy for oxygen delivery and breathing treatments as needed
• Float as needed to comparable or lower-acuity units, and may be asked to serve in charge or preceptor roles based on comfort level and unit needs

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse and/or preceptor experience required
• Valid driver's license with an address located more than 50 miles from the facility required at time of submission

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system preferred
• Comfort and experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation

• Work on a well-supported unit with 24/7 hospitalist coverage, on-site pharmacy support, and readily available respiratory therapy
• Flexible scheduling options including self-scheduling and block scheduling available for travelers, with no on-call requirements
