Job Title
CHESS / Float Pool Registered Nurse – Days
LocationIthaca, NY
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Full-Time | Days | Onsite | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities- Float across multiple units including ICU, Med/Surg/Telemetry, and Emergency Department as needed
- Deliver direct bedside patient care across assigned float pool areas
- Adapt clinical practice to meet the varying needs of each unit and patient population
- Perform triage functions when assigned to the Emergency Department
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Proficiency in Epic EMR is required
- Must demonstrate competency in at least 2 of the following 3 areas: ICU (minimum 2 years experience), Med/Surg/Telemetry (minimum 1 year experience), or Emergency Department (minimum 2 years experience)
- Triage experience required for candidates seeking ED competency credit
Preferred Experience / Skills- Charge Nurse experience, particularly within the Emergency Department
- Experience floating across multiple clinical specialties or working in a float pool environment
