Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Cardiovascular)

Contract | Days | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (7:00–19:00) | 36 or 48 hours per week options | Every other weekend required | Onsite

• Provide progressive care and monitoring for pre/post-operative cardiovascular surgical patients and medical cardiac patients
• Care for vascular patients, amputation patients, and detox patients on a telemetry unit
• Manage and monitor special procedures including chest tubes, wound vacs/care, ostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, central lines, and PICCs
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and other cardiac infusions
• Maintain patient ratios within unit guidelines (goal 1:4; stretch 1:5) and float within scope to meet facility needs as required
• Document accurately using Cerner electronic health records system

• Active WV or Compact RN License (pending license accepted at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and PCU/IMC level care
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record accepted
• Permanent address greater than 100 miles from facility (75–100 miles considered on a case-by-case basis)

• MAB certification preferred
• Experience with cardiovascular or progressive care unit populations
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system

• Work at a large, short-term acute care Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital with 838 staffed beds
• 36 hours per week guaranteed with free parking available for travelers and open to accommodating blocked schedule requests
