Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed telemetry observation unit for patients undergoing short-stay (24–48 hour) observation and diagnostic rule-out
- Monitor and manage patients with varied medical diagnoses; occasional overflow surgical patients
- Interpret telemetry readings and respond appropriately without reliance on medication drips
- Function autonomously with strong clinical judgment in a fast-paced observation setting
- Float within scope to Medical/Surgical Telemetry as needed to meet facility demands
- Fulfill on-call requirements of 5–6 night shifts per 6-week period (22:00–07:00)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts RN license (must be active and in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BCLS certification
- Availability for weekend shifts (2–3 weekends per 6-week schedule, Saturday and/or Sunday)
- Finalized requested time off must be submitted at time of application; no additions accepted after signing
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Cerner electronic health records
- 2–3 years of telemetry experience preferred, particularly for first-time travelers
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health records
