The nurse will be responsible for caring for adult and geriatric patients. The average daily census is approximately 29 patients, with a typical ratio of 4-6 patients per nurse. The nurse will need to float between different units as required. The unit provides care for patients with a variety of medical needs including total joint replacement, neuro spine, general surgery, and more. Experience with stroke care is essential, including familiarity with post-cath care. The nursing staff will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams which include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Candidates should have skills in telemetry monitoring and management of various medical devices and protocols. The nursing staff will monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and manage medications as required. There is a focus on wound care and procedures related to cardiac and stroke management. The role requires adherence to isolation precautions and PPE protocols. The position emphasizes the importance of patient safety and quality care delivery.
