Using the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the Registered Nurse assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care.
The focus is on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.
Additionally, the Registered Nurse applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff.
Responsibilities include performing assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition.
The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions.
This role initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care while collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services.
Resources must be utilized appropriately to support the needs of patients and families.
The Registered Nurse monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.
Education specific to patient and family needs is facilitated and evaluated as appropriate.
Leadership responsibilities include delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
This role functions as a mentor and preceptor, encouraging and facilitating teamwork.
