Description:
Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry
Contract length: 13 Weeks
Shift and Hours: 3 shifts of 12 hours from 07:00 to 19:30
Holidays: Required as they fall, as scheduled
Weekends: Every other weekend required
Floating: Required within the specialty, to other units if necessary
On-call: Not required
Average Daily Census: 25 patients
Number of Rooms: 22
Number of Beds: 30
Patient Age Range: Adults
Patient Diagnoses: Telemetry patients with primary or secondary cardiac diagnoses, stroke/TIA, and stable cardiac catheterization patients.
Special Procedures/Unit Details:
Remote telemetry monitoring required
Specialty drips include Cardizem (non-titratable), Amiodarone, Heparin, Protonix, and Lasix
Equipment used: Portable phones, IV pumps, feeding pump

BiPAP/CPAP management
Cardiac telemetry
Central line care/management
Dysrhythmia interpretation
Isolation precautions and personal protective equipment
IV insulin protocols
Management of cardiac drips without titration
Nasal cannula and oxygen administration
Post myocardial infarction care
Pre/Post cardiac catheterization management
Starting and maintaining IVs
Remote telemetry monitoring
Interdisciplinary Support:
Includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
Compliance:
Travelers must undergo lab tests within 72 hours of signing the contract
All compliance documents must be completed before the start date
