Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 10 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in acute care License: WA or Compact License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Experience with medical-surgical overflow patients Description: Unit Manager will conduct the phone interview. The unit has 18 beds with ratios of 1:4/1:5. Required certifications include BLS and WA or Compact License. Common diagnoses include CHF, DM, UTI, non-critical sepsis, HTN, COPD, isolation, end-of-life/palliative care, awaiting placement, and post-op from general surgery. RNs are required to titrate limited drips, specifically Heparin and Cardizem (up to 10mg/hr). Tele/Monitor Technicians are available on this unit. RNs are responsible for reading strips, pending approval of the position. The charge nurse is designated as the Charge RN. Nurse Aides (CNA) are present on the unit with a ratio of 1:9. RT/Equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP, but no HiFlow. Shifts are 12 hours with weekend requirements based on unit needs. Floating requirements may apply as needed. There is no specific scrub color requirement as per the manager’s guidelines. Orientation consists of a 2-shift orientation. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per a 13-week assignment and 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks. The charting system utilized is EPIC. A BSN is not required for this position. This is a Trauma Level 1 care setting. The division is focused on nursing. Weekend requirements will be determined based on unit needs. A holiday requirement will be discussed during the interview. There is no call or standby requirement for this position.
