Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Valid state license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in cardiac telemetry Ability to manage cardiac drips Willingness to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 holidays Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in a busy telemetry unit. The unit is a 54-bed cardiac unit with a focus on cardiac monitoring. Patients primarily include those with heart failure, heart attacks, strokes, and arrhythmias. Candidates should be comfortable with patient ratios that typically range from 1:5-6, potentially increasing to 1:7 during high-call situations. New travelers are being onboarded weekly to help manage workloads. The unit takes overflow medical patients if needed. The primary responsibilities include monitoring patients closely, managing cardiac drips, and providing care for various cardiac conditions. Strong skills in telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias are essential. Familiarity with charting in Cerner Powerchart is required. Travelers must adhere to all facility policies and complete necessary training prior to the start. Professional conduct is paramount; any unprofessional behavior may result in contract termination.
