Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 Year Preferred License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Epic Experience Required Description: 1 Position Open Epic Experience Required SHIFT: NIGHTS 7PM - 7AM RATE: Not Specified REQUIRED Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications BLS certification required ACLS certification required RN License in state of employment or compact Type of patients on the unit: MI, CHF, Arrhythmias, PVD, and some Med Surg overflow. The department administers many cardiac drips, excluding nitrates, while managing drips. Temporary to permanent position is a possibility. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend On Call Requirement: No call Floating Requirement / Locations: Required to float when needed Nurse / Patient Ratio: 5:1 but can be 6:1 on occasion Summary: The competent Nurse, in a similar clinical setting, practices independently. Demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to effectively manage the clinical situation. Responsibilities: Meets expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the nursing scope and standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Utilizes appropriate protocols to administer medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources. Job Requirements: Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: BLS required Current ACLS certification required RN License in state of employment or compact Position Requirements: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member. Initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of competency validation. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is necessary. All newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or other specific orientation. Skills completion and competency completion will be achieved with the preceptor at the bedside.
