Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: RN Telemetry I Specialty: RN Telemetry I Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of acute care hospital experience in one location; 2 years working as a Traveler License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must be willing to float to 8 different units Description: Float throughout the hospital to all Med/Surg Tele areas. Responsible for cardiac monitoring and managing cardiac drips. Experience in reading telemetry strips is required. Telemetry monitoring includes measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours. Must have TR Band experience. Clinician to patient ratio: Days & Eves up to 5:1, Nights up to 6:1. Care for emergency department border patients and provide medication nursing in the acute mental health unit. Care for non-vented patients who are transfer ready in the ICU. Patient populations range from units with 8 to 41 beds. Days and evening shifts may rotate to nights with 1 to 3 rotations per contract. The electronic health record charting system used is EPIC. Active RN license in Massachusetts is required. Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications are mandatory.
