This position involves caring for patients who may require further evaluation for admission. The unit experiences a high turnover of patients. Nursing staff communicate regularly with providers, utilization review, and case management teams. The goal is to assess patients' needs and determine possible discharge dates. Candidates should have experience with various telemetry skills and techniques. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The daily census averages around 28 patients, with a total of 34 beds in the unit. Support is available from interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. This is a fast-paced environment that requires effective communication and quick decision-making. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in telemetry monitoring and management of patients with diverse diagnoses. Some common patient diagnoses include chest pain, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, diabetes, and cardiac arrhythmias. Successful candidates will be committed to providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic setting.
