Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in cardiac telemetry nursing required. License: Active Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: EMR experience with at least 1 year of EPIC required. Description: This position requires the nurse to work three 12-hour night shifts. Floating is required to various units depending on the needs of the organization. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, but this may change based on need. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring adult patients in observation status and inpatient overflow. Common patient diagnoses include adult patients experiencing chest pain, acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrhythmias, diabetes, syncope, and permanent pacemaker insertion. Additional conditions include stroke work-up, pneumonia, heart failure, COPD, sepsis, and GI bleed. The role includes ensuring patient assessment, coordination of testing and procedures, and collaboration with providers to develop patient-specific plans of care. Consultations with specialty services will be required, including cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, and neurology. Nurses will perform specialized procedures such as cardiac telemetry monitoring, permanent pacemaker pacing, and thoracentesis/paracentesis. Administration of continuous intravenous infusions and IV push medications will be conducted according to policy guidelines. The nurse must have experience in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, as well as other telemetry-related skills. This role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and effective communication skills to ensure high-quality patient care. Traveling staff may be required to float among different units and campuses as necessary. Social Security numbers are required for submission.
