Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Telemetry nursing License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of experience as a Telemetry nurse - Cardiac drip experience - NIH stroke assessment experience - Post-cath recovery and chest tube experience Description: The unit has 27 beds and will expand by 10 more beds. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4. Common diagnoses include CHF, NSTEMI, STEMI, Stroke, Sepsis, Diabetes, CAD, Renal Failure, and Respiratory Failure. Post-cath lab patients will be managed, but the nurse will not pull sheaths. Experience with TR bands and Fem stops is ideal. RNs are required to read and document patient data every 6 hours. Telemonitoring is currently done using SpaceLab monitors, with a transition to Philips underway. Charge nurses and house supervisors are available on the unit, and they do not take patients. Nurse aides are present with a ratio of 1:8 or 1:9. Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow systems, which will be managed by RT. Shifts are from 0700 to 1930 and 1900 to 0730. Travelers will fill any necessary openings on weekends and holidays. Nurses may float to similar units or Med/Surg as needed. There may be occasions to float to ICU if the nurse has the required experience. Scrub color is flexible as long as attire is clean and professional. This facility has a distance rule for applicants.
