Job Title: Telemetry Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Valid State License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Experience with patient ratios of 4-5 - Proficiency with Epic charting system - Preferred experience in a Level II Trauma Center Description: 1 year of experience or first-time travel nurses are welcome. This position requires floating between units as needed. Weekends are required, with a commitment of 6 shifts every 6 weeks. Block schedules are not required. The expected patient ratio is 1:4-5. Nurses will be required to comply with a specific dress code of solid navy blue uniforms. This is a short-term acute care facility with 379 staffed beds and is a Level II Trauma Center. The nursing unit supports a variety of interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, AMS, NSTEMI, and sepsis. Nurses will be required to manage tasks related to cardiac telemetry and post-cardiac catheterization care. Key skills required include accessing and managing ports, administering blood products, and interpreting dysrhythmias. Additionally, nurses are expected to manage various procedures and equipment such as chest tubes, feeding tubes, and tracheostomy care. The average daily census in the unit is approximately 25 patients. Nurses may need to float to sister facilities as part of this role. Refusal to float may lead to termination of the assignment. Communication devices will be provided for nursing duties as needed.
