Job Summary
MD Staffing is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) with Cardio Surgical ICU (CSICU) or Cardiac ICU experience for a travel contract in New York City. The Clinical Nurse will provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill cardiac patients while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process and evidence-based practices.
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate critically ill cardiac surgery patients.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR.
- Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and quality standards.
- Participate in bedside reporting, hourly rounding, and quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
- BLS (AHA) Certification
- ACLS (AHA) Certification
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a hospital setting
- Minimum 2 years of Cardio Surgical ICU (CSICU) or Cardiac ICU experience
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
