Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS required Must-Have: - Epic experience required - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience: 2:1 Description: Candidate will be reviewed by clinical staff to determine clinical fit. If the candidate passes the clinical review and meets guidelines, they will be sent to the manager for final decision. Candidates may care for COVID patients. Facility is tobacco and fragrance-free. Floating may be required to all ICU floors. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Call requirements are not applicable. Holidays may be required as needed. Candidates must manage arterial lines and assist with chest tube insertion/removal. Candidates should be capable of BiPAP/CPAP management and blood product administration. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to care for ventilated patients and manage central lines. Experience with continuous IV sedation and CRRT is preferred. Candidates must interpret arterial blood gases and manage dysrhythmias. Isolation precautions and PPE management are required. Candidates will also manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure. Suctioning of endotracheal tubes and nasotracheal tubes is necessary. Candidates should be familiar with trauma intensive care units. Titration of vasoactive drips is essential. Successful candidates will work within an interdisciplinary support team. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics with various diagnoses such as vascular surgeries and complex abdominal surgeries. Special procedures in the unit may include open abdomen cases. Candidates must complete P/F testing, where applicable, within 72 hours of signing their contract. Modules will be billable and generally take 5-6 hours to complete before the start date.
