Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty required License: Compact or state license in hand upon submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: High acuity ICU experience Ability to float to other ICUs and SDUs Epic experience required Experience with pulmonary artery catheters and balloon pumps preferred Description: The registered nurse will provide high-quality care for surgical and transplant recovery patients. Patient ratio is 1:2. Charge experience is preferred. Candidates will be responsible for managing ventilated patients, blood product administration, and post-operative care. Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy is required. Nurses will engage in collaborative care with interdisciplinary support for adult and geriatric patients. The unit handles a variety of diagnoses, including cardiac surgery, transplant patients, and general surgery. The nurse must possess skills in monitoring and managing complex medical conditions. Emergency team responsibilities may be assigned based on unit manager discretion. To qualify, candidates must have experience in managing high acuity patients and invasive monitoring. Transplant experience is required, including liver, heart, lung, kidney, and pancreas. Nurses should exhibit competency in infection prevention, interpreting arterial blood gases, and managing dysrhythmias.
