Key Responsibilities of the Travel Stepdown Registered Nurse:
- Provide expert nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical units
- Monitor complex patients requiring continuous cardiac or hemodynamic observation
- Administer medications, titrate drips, and assess patient responses to treatment
- Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records
- Support patients and families with education and emotional care during recovery
- Uphold all hospital safety, infection control, and quality standards
Requirements of the Travel Stepdown Registered Nurse:
- Active RN license (Pennsylvania or compact state)
- BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Stepdown or Progressive Care RN experience in an acute care hospital
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient monitoring skills
