Requirements

Responsibilities

Core Nursing Functions
• Monitor and maintain student health records and documentation
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Communicate with staff, parents, and healthcare providers regarding student health concerns
• Apply the nursing process using a science-based approach to care delivery
• Train staff in medication administration and first aid

Program-Specific Duties
Special Education
• Provide 1:1 or assigned nursing support throughout the school day
• Assist with student safety, medical needs, and emergency response
• Communicate health updates to school nurse and family
Early Childhood
• Conduct vision, hearing, dental, height, and weight screenings
• Maintain immunization and physical exam records
• Develop Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs)
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences
Extended Learning Time
• Provide after-school medical support and emergency care
• Administer medications and monitor student health status
Health Services
• Support general student population across schools
• Maintain health compliance records and screenings
• Assist families with accessing medical and community resources
