Job Title: Rehabilitation Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Rehabilitation Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Varied Shifts Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current RN license required Certifications: Basic Life Support certification required Must-Have: Basic Dysrhythmia knowledge preferred or obtained prior to completion of orientation. Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained prior to completion of orientation. Description: The primary position will be in the Rehabilitation unit, with potential to float to Med/Surg if not needed in Rehabilitation. Supports and promotes the mission and values of the organization. Renders professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital and carries out orders placed by the responsible provider. Provides comprehensive clinical documentation including care plans each shift. Seeks feedback regarding practice and takes appropriate actions. Communicates patient information for continuity and safe care through bedside shift report, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding. Maintains compliance with achieving unit-specific competencies and requirements. Completes all required learning modules within the identified timeframe. Helps to promote a culture of well-being, such as decreasing alarm fatigue. Promotes a positive culture and atmosphere within the department each shift. Provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures and protocols. Identifies and assists in addressing patient care safety issues. Works within guidelines of a Just Culture Environment to promote error reporting and the adoption of safe practices. Ensures issues are addressed through the appropriate use of the chain of command. Participates in daily unit-based safety huddles. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the organization’s overall strategic plan. Remains up to date with unit-based nursing-sensitive indicators, such as CAUTI, CLABSI, CDIFF, HAPU, FALLS, HH, and VAE. Actively participates in quality initiatives and performance improvement to enhance patient outcomes. Collaborates with nurses in other departments to leverage expertise in clinical areas and specialties. Seeks opportunities to assist all team members. Develops and implements performance goals based on self-assessment and feedback. Ensures patient education materials are culturally competent. Serves as a preceptor for new nurses. Participates in survey preparation processes. Demonstrates practice consistent with shared governance and the philosophy of the unit and organization. Assists in identifying solutions to problems and conflicts. Effectively delegates aspects of care and unit activities to other nursing personnel. Collaborates in planning, supervising, and instructing other nurses and assistants. Works collaboratively with nursing students and instructors. Manages use of earned time off per policy. Completes dysrhythmia course prior to completion of orientation, as required for telemetry-based departments.
