Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Rehab Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Active Nursing License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: First-timers accepted Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period Description: Provide nursing care for patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. Average daily census is approximately 10 patients. Patient to nurse ratio is 1:6 across all shifts. Primary responsibilities include managing patients with various medical conditions. Conditions include angina, hypertension, post-myocardial infarction, and chronic illnesses. Monitor blood glucose levels and administer insulin as necessary. Utilize feeding devices and provide feeding tube care and management. Perform NG tube insertion and management, as well as PEG tube feeding. Implement swallowing precautions and administer thickened liquids as needed. Include foley catheter removal and blood product administration in duties. Provide care and management for ports and perform central line care (PICC lines). Start and maintain IVs and perform venous blood draws. Administer anticoagulation therapy and antiseizure medications. Assist patients with CVA, neuromuscular diseases, and other medical issues. Conduct stroke scale assessments and manage patients with traumatic brain injuries. Utilize assistive devices and mobilization techniques effectively. Perform assessments and provide patient education on diabetes management. Conduct fall risk assessments and implement infection prevention protocols. Ensure adherence to national patient safety goals and core measures. Implement pain assessment and management techniques. Monitor pressure ulcers and engage in prevention strategies. Manage restraints and operate specialty beds. Address wound care and utilize respiratory treatments, including nebulizers and CPAP. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy and social services. Be prepared to float to other units based on facility needs.
