Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 12 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: Inpatient acute rehabilitation experience, familiarity with FIM and CARE Tool measures, Med/Surg nursing experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a rehabilitation unit. The unit has 16 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5. There are Patient Care Technicians available when the census is at 8 or above, but no secretary on the unit. Equipment used includes Sara Steady lifts, Hoyer lifts, and Alaris pumps. Documentation is completed using a Meditech system. Scheduling requires 3 shifts per week with every third weekend. Contract and PRN staff will float to similar units as needed. Nursing duties focus on goal setting with patients, hourly rounding, and bedside shift reports. Advanced skills are not required, but wound care, line insertion, and blood and antibiotic administration are performed on the unit. The dress code consists of a grey scrub top with black or grey scrub bottoms. The rehabilitation unit is well-kept, featuring all private rooms and new equipment. All rooms are set up as rehabilitation suites to enhance patient care. A block schedule is available upon request. Current staff members have an average of 4 years or more experience as RNs. This role includes a comprehensive orientation to ensure the highest quality of care. The unit has achieved a quality metric for rehabilitation centers currently at 83.8, exceeding the national benchmark.
