Travel RN – First Assist / Operating Room (OR)
LocationTucson, Arizona
Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | On-Call Required (approximately 10–12 calls per 6-week period)
Key Responsibilities- Assist the surgeon directly during operative procedures as a Registered First Assistant
- Ensure the operating room is properly prepared, maintained, and cleaned before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the broader surgical team to support safe and effective patient care
- Float to other departments as needed based on facility staffing requirements
- Adhere to all surgical safety protocols, sterile technique standards, and infection control procedures
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)
- Valid First Assist Certification (RNFA or equivalent)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability and willingness to take on-call shifts as scheduled
- Willingness to float to other departments when needed
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Prior travel nursing experience in a surgical or perioperative setting
