Travel Nurse RN - Registered Nurse First Assistant in Rochester, NY

First assist in complex cardiac cases including CABGs, structural heart cases (e.g., Bentall), minimally invasive procedures (e.g., Mini Aortic Valve Replacement), and heart failure cases (e.g., Impella). Exposure to a broad range of cardiac specialties including structural heart, minimally invasive surgery, heart failure, and transplant.

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 36–48 hours per week | Primarily weekdays 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 11:00 AM–11:00 PM | On-call responsibilities per unit need

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with chest exposure and closing during cardiac surgical procedures
• Independently perform vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedures
• First assist in complex cardiac cases including CABGs, structural heart cases (e.g., Bentall), minimally invasive procedures (e.g., Mini Aortic Valve Replacement), and heart failure cases (e.g., Impella)
• Participate in heart transplant procedures as needed
• Fulfill on-call responsibilities as required by unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience
• Active New York State (NYS) Registered Nurse license
• CNOR certification
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Telemetry competency

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience first assisting in DaVinci robotic surgical cases
• Ability to scrub and circulate complex cardiac cases
• Experience with heart transplant procedures
