Contract | Days (Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM) with after-hours call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and facilitate patient care within the Operating Room, coordinating between the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and room staff throughout the perioperative period
- Function as a first assistant during surgical incision, excision, and repair of pathology for procedures within granted privileges
- Participate in preoperative assessment and planning for selected surgical patients in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise in medication, treatment, and patient care standards on a consistent basis
- Support all functions related to operating room services, including intraoperative patient care
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an RNFA program that meets AORN standards
- 1–2 years of experience as an RNFA
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Two or more years of perioperative nursing experience
- Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification
- PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Status) certification
- Active membership with the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN)
