Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Mid Shift (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) | Includes weekday on-call coverage until 11:00 PM at least one day per week and at least one continuous weekend (Friday–Monday, 6:30 AM) per six-week period

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and facilitate patient care within the Operating Room, coordinating between the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and room staff throughout the perioperative period
  • Function as a first assistant during surgical incision, excision, and repair of pathology for procedures within granted privileges
  • Participate in preoperative assessment and planning for selected surgical patients in collaboration with the healthcare team in the preoperative setting
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise regarding medications, treatments, and patient care standards on a consistent basis
Required Qualifications
  • Completion of an RNFA program that meets AORN standards
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
  • AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Minimum two years of perioperative nursing experience
  • Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification in the state of practice
  • PEARS or PALS certification from an approved vendor
  • Active membership with the Association of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN)
