We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join a specialized adolescent behavioral health unit for a 13-week travel contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a supportive team in a highly structured, high-acuity psychiatric setting caring for adolescent patients.
Assignment Details

- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Schedule: Day Shift
- Hours: 48 Hours Per Week
- Shift Time: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM
Unit Highlights
Birch Unit
- High-Acuity Adolescent Psychiatric Unit
- Male patients ages 12-17
- Maximum census of 10 patients
- Strong staffing support model
- 1:1 Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) support
- Three nurses scheduled per shift (when fully staffed)
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for adolescent psychiatric patients.
- Provide therapeutic nursing interventions and crisis management.
- Monitor patient behaviors, safety concerns, and treatment progress.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Administer medications and document patient responses.
- Support patients and families through education and therapeutic communication.
- Maintain compliance with behavioral health policies and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse License
- Minimum 1 year of Psychiatric Nursing Experience Required
- Adolescent Psychiatry Experience Preferred
- Current CPR Certification (if applicable)
- Current TB Screening and Health Documentation (if required)
- Must meet all federal, state, and facility requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
