Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nursing Director ICU to provide leadership and operational oversight for critical care services within a hospital setting. This role supports executive nursing leadership and is responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice across multiple patient care units.
The Nursing Director assumes 24/7 accountability for assigned departments and plays a key role in ensuring high-quality patient care, staff competency, clinical excellence, and effective resource management.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and operational support for nursing and patient care services
Assist with assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice across multiple units
Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, and appropriate patient care
Support clinical staff development, competency, and performance management
Collaborate with executive nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams
Monitor and optimize resource utilization related to patient care services
Promote nursing excellence, professional practice standards, and quality outcomes
Serve as a clinical and operational leader within critical care services
Maintain effective communication and positive working relationships across departments
Participate in strategic initiatives, performance improvement, and patient safety programs
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Associate Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Minimum 5 years of critical care experience in a hospital setting
Minimum 2 years of progressive management experience as a manager, charge nurse, or related leadership role in a hospital environment
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple clinical units and operational priorities
Current CPR certification
Knowledge of nursing operations, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master's Degree in a healthcare-related field
Additional leadership experience within critical care or acute care environments
Experience supporting organizational nursing strategy and operational excellence
