Job Title: Nurse Manager Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 AM - 4 PM Experience: Minimum five (5) years as a Registered Nurse. Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in psychiatry. Minimum two (2) years in a leadership role. License: Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in Client required. Certifications: Basic Life Support required. ACLS required. Crisis Management (PMCS, TRUST) required. Must-Have: Must have experience managing a psychiatric unit. Managerial experience in adult and/or child CPEP preferred. Description: The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily operation and clinical supervision of the staff in the Department of Nursing. This person is clinically and administratively responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all activities within the Inpatient Service in collaboration with the Director. The goal is to ensure the delivery of quality patient care that is consistent with regulatory agency standards and evidence-based approaches to clinical management. Essential Duties include: Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with patients, visitors, and employees. Interacting professionally, courteously, and appropriately with others. Behaving in a manner consistent with maintaining a positive public perception. Implementing hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory agencies codes and regulations. Managing the unit in collaboration with the Director. Coordinating all performance improvement activities to ensure an interdisciplinary process. Utilizing appropriate benchmarks for performance. Preparing data related to clinical activities and other reports required by regulatory agencies. Monitoring admissions and discharges to ensure appropriate clinical management and discharge planning. Gathering performance improvement data and information for regulatory compliance. Involvement in budgeting, supply and inventory maintenance. Providing operational leadership on a 24-hour basis. Ensuring that ethical standards are met while delivering patient care. Overseeing the patient care area to meet clinical needs and competencies. Providing administrative coverage for the Nursing Department as necessary. Participating in continued education to enhance administrative and clinical knowledge. Innovating and implementing best practices in care. Assuming other responsibilities as assigned by senior leadership. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
