Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) for a 9-week contract assignment in Fairmont, West Virginia. The DON will oversee all nursing operations within the facility, ensuring high standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective leadership of the nursing team.

This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and the ability to manage staffing, compliance, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration in a skilled nursing environment.


Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily nursing department operations and staffing
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations
Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff
Develop and enforce nursing policies and procedures
Monitor patient care quality and safety standards
Collaborate with physicians, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams
Manage audits, documentation, and regulatory readiness
Address staffing needs and operational challenges proactively


Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Previous leadership experience in long-term care or skilled nursing required
Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Experience in quality improvement and staff management preferred
Ability to manage a high-responsibility clinical leadership role
