Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Adult Inpatient Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Two years of behavioral health experience is required License: Client RN License Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: - Nursing care planning - EMR documentation - Medication administration - Behavioral health - Patient assessment Description: Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, such as daily morning rounds and treatment team planning. Take part in in-service training by unit, department, and discipline. Engage in quality assurance activities. Conduct patient interviews and perform holistic initial nursing assessments on admission and discharge. Evaluate, plan, educate, and implement nursing care for patients. Utilize, complete, and document in EMR all screening and assessment tools on admission, as per policy related to psychiatric patients. Prepare for and perform medication administration. Conduct and co-facilitate nursing education groups. Document in EMR progress of patients during each tour. Participate in and document in the Comprehensive Treatment Plan. Assist with performing diagnostic procedures within the scope of practice. Participate in and guide ancillary staff in patient care activities specific to psychiatry. Ensure that a safe therapeutic environment is maintained. Ensure the safety of patients during off-unit or offsite diagnostic or therapeutic activities. Support efforts for positive patient outcomes and perceptions of care. Participate in patient-family conferences.
