Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
  • Perform comprehensive mental health assessments and monitor patient progress
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and care plans
  • Assess and manage patients experiencing behavioral crises and psychiatric emergencies
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
  • Monitor patient safety and maintain a therapeutic environment
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, coping strategies, and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, confidentiality, and quality care guidelines
  • Support patients through crisis intervention and therapeutic communication techniques
Requirements
  • Active RN License in California
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Psychiatric or Behavioral Health nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred
  • Strong assessment, de-escalation, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage patients with diverse psychiatric diagnoses and behavioral needs
  • Experience with electronic medical records and nursing documentation systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered mental health care
