Job Title: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active and full RN license required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Description: Position available for a Registered Nurse specializing in Behavioral Health. The nurse will provide care to patients with thought disorders. Experience in a similar environment is essential. The nurse will be responsible for administering medications and monitoring patient progress. The nurse may be required to float to different units as needed. The nurse will work with an interdisciplinary team to support patient care. Understanding of charting systems preferred. Patient population includes adults with diagnoses such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Weekend shifts are required on an every-other-weekend basis. The RN may serve as charge nurse during a shift without additional pay for those hours. All nurses must adhere to facility policies regarding drug screening and medical marijuana. Floating to any age population may be expected based on scheduling needs. Pre-approved time off is limited to one request per contract period. The daily census typically involves managing 17 patients. Patient ratios may vary between shifts. Additional support services include interpretation, phlebotomy, and pharmacy.
