Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for adults on the psychiatric unit
- Perform thorough mental health assessments and document findings clearly and timely
- Administer medications safely and monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects
- Implement crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (psychiatrists, therapists, social workers) to develop and update care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and coping strategies
- Maintain accurate, timely charting and comply with facility policies and regulatory standards
- Participate in shift handoffs and communicate changes in patient status effectively
