Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: Relevant certifications preferred Must-Have: Experience in general nursing, dialysis, and mental health Description: Provides patient care as directed. Administers medication, including oral, intramuscular, and intravenous. Monitors patient medication compliance. Performs treatments and assists with nursing sick calls. Assists with physician sick calls. Participates in the management of chronic care clinics. Responds to emergencies by providing emergency care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Performs subjective and objective assessments of patients. Collects vital signs and documents all findings in a timely manner. Collects urine and/or other bodily fluid specimens. Prepares patients for release or transfer to other facilities. Reviews patient care and transfer summaries or release summaries. Ensures discharge medication orders are completed and forwarded to pharmacy services. Participates in work-related training and institutional training exercises. Provides assistance to other healthcare staff. Investigates and documents problem areas or areas of concern. Reviews shift report from preceding shifts. Assists physicians with medical procedures. Assumes duties of other nurses during absences. Counsels and educates patients regarding healthcare maintenance and disease prevention. Participates in quality assurance activities. Provides training and work direction to new nurses, agency nurses, licensed practical nurses, and hospital aides. Serves as a resource person for other healthcare and security staff regarding healthcare matters. Provides orientation and training for new healthcare personnel as directed. Serves as the lead clinical authority on site in the absence of designated staff. Participates in group programming and health and wellness initiatives. Performs administrative duties as indicated. Attends meetings and schedules multidisciplinary team meetings. Assumes the duties of shift charge as assigned.
