Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of step down or progressive care unit experience License: Any state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac experience required - Experience with CABG and valve post-operative - EPIC experience - 1:5 patient ratio experience - Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment - Can read and interpret EKG strips - Experience with high-risk cardiac patients Description: The role requires significant cardiac experience and a background in CABG and valve post-operative care. Candidates must demonstrate experience handling a 1:5 patient ratio in their work history. Experience in intensive care does not qualify as step down or progressive care unit experience. Compliance with specific cardiac protocols is necessary. Nurses will be fitted for N95 masks as needed. Travelers will float between units based on staffing needs. Working every other weekend and holiday is mandatory. The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts due to low patient volume. Nurses in this role will support the care team in various specialized settings. This position involves pre and post-operative care management for cardiac and vascular patients. Candidates will work with advanced care cardiac patients who require continuous telemetry monitoring. Patient demographics include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Special procedures involve management of open-heart surgeries and advanced lung cases. Daily census averages around 32 patients with a unit capacity of 36 beds.
