Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in stepdown or PCU required License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS, NIH required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: EPIC experience is required Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment Must have some level 1 or 2 hospital experience preferred Travel experience preferred Description: This position requires competence in managing patients in a stepdown cardiac unit. Typical patients include those with heart failure, chest pain, NSTEMI, and post-procedure recovery. RNs must be capable of running IV drips such as heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and insulin. The ideal candidate should be able to read and interpret EKG strips. Daily patient ratios are targeted at 1:5-6. Travelers will be expected to float to other units as needed. Floating will occur within reasonable proximity to the assignment. Availability to work every other weekend and holiday is required. No RTO requests will be considered after the offer. Approval for time off will be at the manager's discretion. No references are required for this position. All assignments will be medically appropriate for the RN's skills. The ability to manage IV insulin protocols and interpret dysrhythmias is essential. Candidates must show experience in stepdown or PCU settings in their application. ICU experience will not be considered for eligibility. This position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care in a busy unit.
