Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years preferred License: Active state RN license or compact license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - EPIC experience - Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment - Experience with stable chronic ventilators - IV start preferred - Previous charge experience preferred Description: Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but they can be up to 1:5-6. The position requires availability to work every other weekend and holiday. Travelers may float within the hospital or to another facility nearby based on skill sets and census needs. Candidates must be comfortable floating with no restrictions or special requests. Staffing and scheduling may include potential for floating. The daily census is approximately 23 patients, with a total of 23 beds available. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Types of patient diagnoses may include COPD, CHF, AKI/CRF, PND, KARS, COVID, Flu, GI bleed, and others. The unit provides interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Special procedures and equipment in use include chest tube management, insulin drips, heparin drips, and cardiac monitoring. Candidates must have experience in cardiac telemetry and care of ventilated patients. Skills required include managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, tracheostomy care, and wound care management.
