Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 24 months of experience in Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care. Client/neurosurgery care experience required. Ortho/orthopedic care experience required. Trauma care experience preferred. Drip experience with Heparin, PCA, and 3% Sodium required. EKG/Strip reading and telemetry experience required. License: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Active Iowa or compact/multistate nursing license at time of submission. Skills Checklist must be specific to the discipline of Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care. Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred. De-escalation certificate preferred, including CPI, MOAB, MAB, or SAMA. Trauma Level I experience highly preferred. Description: We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit. This position requires the ability to work nights on a full-time schedule of 4 shifts per week. The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients requiring intensive monitoring and complex medical management. Patient types include heavy neuro trauma, neurosurgery, craniectomy, and orthopedic cases. The RN-to-patient ratio will be 1:5 to 1:6. The nurse will be expected to float across various units as needed. The use of specialty equipment, including telemetry and chest tubes, is required. Candidates must have strong skills in assessing and managing patients in a progressive care environment. Experience with electronic medical records is essential. A professional commitment to ongoing education and improvement in nursing practice is expected.
