Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit experience License: Any state RN license Certifications: BLS, NIH required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Must have experience in a 1:5 patient ratio environment. Must possess EPIC experience. Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Must be competent to manage IV drips such as heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and insulin. Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Description: Candidates should have experience in managing patients with heart failure, chest pain, NSTEMI, and COPD exacerbation. Experience with post-procedure patients and drug/ETOH overdose and withdrawal is essential. Nurses must be competent in interpreting dysrhythmias and starting and maintaining IVs. Daily average census for the unit is approximately 31 patients. Nurses will float as needed within specialty clusters. Travelers may be assigned to support the nursing care team of units they float to. Flexibility to work in different locations is expected as part of the role. RTO requests should be made with the application submission and will be approved at the Manager's discretion. Travelers must comply with the required certifications and competencies. No references are required for this position.
