License: Any active state RN license or compact license is accepted.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS required.
Must-Have:
Cardiac experience required.
Experience with drawing arterial blood gases.
EPIC charting experience required.
Ability to read and interpret EKG strips.
Experience with telemetry and cardiac drips.
Description:
The position requires a registered nurse with cardiac experience.
Candidates must have experience in a step-down or progressive care unit.
Targeted patient ratios are 1:4 but may be up to 1:5-6.
The unit participates in a team nursing model, where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs work together to care for a group of patients.
Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on the needs of the unit.
The role includes managing cardiac drips and administering medications.
Candidates must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment.
Travelers will be the first to float to other units if needed.
If assigned to float, the nurse must support the nursing care team of the unit they are assigned to.
Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.
Nurses will be fitted for N95 prior to beginning work unless otherwise specified.
A maximum of 14 days off is allowed during the contract period.
No schedule requests will be negotiated after an offer is made.
The facility reserves the right to cancel agreements with two weeks' notice without penalty.
Candidates must have experience with high-flow nasal cannula and managing dysrhythmias.
Wound care, post-cardiac procedures, and pre/post-hemodialysis management experience is preferred.
Familiarity with inter-disciplinary support roles such as physical therapy and respiratory services is beneficial.
