Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: PCU/Med Surg/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ONS/ONCC Must-Have: - Chemo certification required - Candidates must not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility - Driver's license required - Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination Description: This position requires passing a pass/fail exam during orientation. The exam is open book and focuses on the skills learned. Candidates must achieve a 90% to pass or will be terminated. The unit operates with a patient ratio of 1:4 for PCU and 1:5 for Med/Surg. Common patient diagnoses include oncology and trauma. Oncology and PCU experience are preferred. Registered nurses may need to titrate drips, including insulin and cardizem. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. The unit floats to Med/Surg and other PCU units as needed. Orientation is 2 days for this position. The patient population is predominantly adults requiring level-of-care treatment in PCU and Oncology. Common medications administered include chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix. Competencies needed include ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. This position also involves hourly rounding focused on patient experience challenges. Teamwork and a genuine care for patients are essential qualities for candidates. Diversity in cultural, religious beliefs, and economic status among patients is respected. Nurses will work with patients from diagnosis to remission, providing care and support as needed. The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled over the duration of the assignment.
