Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required. Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and progressive care experience is necessary. Ventilator and transplant experience is required. License: State nursing license required. Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only). Must-Have: Telemetry test must be passed prior to starting. Ability to manage critically ill patients with multiple comorbidities is essential. Description: The registered nurse will work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include providing care to acutely ill surgical and trauma patients. The role requires a strong emphasis on critical thinking and teamwork. Nurses will care for both general care and intermediate care level patients. The unit serves a diverse patient population, including those with cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant needs. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2 for intermediate care and 1:4 for general care. The ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team is vital for quality patient care. Experience in an academic or similar level trauma center is required. Nurses must demonstrate proficiency in various procedures and equipment management.
