Job Title: RN- PCU/MS Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Must be comfortable working all PCU and MS units. - Epic charting experience required. - Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration. - Skilled in central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support. - Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management. - Capable of managing PCA, heparin protocols, and administering IV insulin. - Background includes telemetry and stepdown-level care. Description: The RN- PCU/MS Float position requires the ability to float to different units as staffing needs are re-evaluated every four hours. Travelers may float 2 to 3 times per shift. Weekend requirements may include working every other weekend or six shifts within a six-week scheduling block. Holiday requirements include working one holiday during the contract. Candidates may submit with a pending license if they hold a single-state license from a non-compact state. Facility will allow call-offs for one shift every two weeks. The average patient ratios are 5:1 for PCU and 6:1 for MS, with potential flexing up to 7:1. The unit supports interdisciplinary services, including physical therapy and pharmacy. Strong emphasis is placed on team collaboration and responsiveness to patient needs. This position offers a dynamic environment and an opportunity to manage diverse patient scenarios. Candidates with experience in Charge roles are preferred. Familiarity with trauma care is a plus.
