Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Post-Surgical Care Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac open heart recovery. - Strong Surgical Intermediate Care experience. - At least 2 previous travel assignments. License: - RN license required. Certifications: - BLS required. - Critical Care Certification preferred. - ACLS preferred. Must-Have: - Experience with high acuity patients. - Experience taking care of patients who are 1+ days out from CABG, valve repairs, and valve replacements. - Experience with Mechanical Circulatory Support devices like LVADs. - Familiarity with caring for patients recovering from heart and lung transplants. Description: The role involves caring for patients recovering from cardiac and vascular surgeries. The unit is a fast-paced surgical step-down environment. Registered Nurses will work as part of a multidisciplinary team. There are a total of 32 beds including both monitored and non-monitored levels of care. Nurse-patient ratios are typically 1:3 during the day and 1:4 at night. This position requires expertise in managing high acuity patients with a focus on cardiovascular recovery. The role emphasizes the importance of continuous cardiac monitoring for certain patients. Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
