The Registered Nurse focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are key responsibilities of this role. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice is essential. Education supported by a Practice Governance framework is encouraged. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN applies the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. Responsibilities include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. Educational and professional experiences are applied in the delivery of quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff are important aspects of this position. Perform assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrate the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiate, prioritize, and implement the plan of care. Review and revise the plan as indicated. Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilize resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Monitor and document responses to clinical interventions. Facilitate, coordinate, and evaluate education specific to patient and family needs. Lead and delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Function as a mentor and preceptor. Demonstrate and promote teamwork. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement. Participate in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implement practice changes and comply with regulatory standards. Participate in the Practice Governance model.
